What motivates you at the start of each day? All the nice things patients say to me when I help them helps me get up every morning to go do what I do.

What made you choose a career in nursing? I have a very caring nature. I am empathetic and pay attention to detail. I am organized and have the ability to say something positive to uplift anybody’s spirit when need be in most cases. I easily adapt to situations and have the physical and mental endurance needed for Nursing. I am a quick thinker, hard working and an excellent communicator.

How do you make a difference in the lives of your patients? By treating each and every one of them like they were my own family.

Kingsley Koranteng, BSN, CAN, GNA, PCT, MED-TECH is a Patient Care Technician and Entrepreneur currently practicing with Suburban Hospital and Elite Nurses and Aides, in Rockville, Maryland. Elite Nurses and Aides is a home health business that he has started with his brother. Originally from Ghana, he graduated with his first Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, before relocating to the United States and graduated with a second Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Montgomery College. In 2014 he was named Patient Care Technician of the year by Suburban Hospital. He attributes his success to hard work, dedication and always dreaming big.
